Our luxury Baroque furniture collection brings the ornate carving traditions of 17th-century Versailles, 18th-century Florence, and 19th-century Vienna into modern homes -- hand-built in our Ankara workshop on properly seasoned solid hardwood frames, with deep-relief carving, gilt accents, and the period-correct aprons and pediments that define classical European Baroque silhouettes. This is Baroque furniture made the way it was made centuries ago: hand-carved, not mold-cast; solid hardwood frames, not painted MDF; gilt detail hand-laid by master artisans, not printed finish.

What Defines Our Baroque Furniture

  • Deep-relief hand carving. Solid European hardwood (beech and hornbeam) frames hand-carved by third-generation master artisans. Aprons, pediments, pedestals, and crowns shaped with traditional Baroque scrollwork, acanthus leaves, cabriole legs, and shell motifs.
  • Italian lacquer + hand-rubbed wood finish. a hand-applied, multi-coat finish built to last. Hand-rubbed ebonized hardwood, ivory-and-gold, and rich walnut-tone available across the Baroque collection.
  • Hand-applied gold leaf and silver leaf accents. 22-karat composition leaf hand-laid sheet by sheet on carved aprons and crowns. The signature Baroque opulence.
  • Crystal hardware and intricate decorative inlay. Hand-cut crystal pulls on display cases and china cabinets. Period-correct decorative wood inlay (small pieces of contrasting wood, fitted by hand) on case pieces.
  • soft-close hardware throughout. Soft-close hinges and lifetime-cycle drawer slides throughout. Hidden behind ornate carved fronts.
  • Hand-carved, not cast. Real woodwork by master artisans in our Ankara workshop. Most "Baroque-style" furniture sold in the US is molded plastic painted to imitate woodwork. Ours is not.

Baroque Styles We Offer

Our luxury Baroque furniture collection covers the major historical Baroque silhouettes. Each style is available across living room, dining room, and bedroom for a coordinated Baroque interior:

  • Italian Baroque Carved -- Aybars family: the most ornate, with deep-relief carving on aprons, pediments, and pedestals. The signature classical Baroque look.
  • Royal Ottoman Baroque -- Sultan family: large-scale carved silhouettes in cream and black ebonized finish, with intricate crown moldings and pedestal bases.
  • French Baroque (Louis XIV / Louis XVI) -- Aldebaran family: cabriole legs, fluted columns, hand-applied gold leaf trim, structured symmetry.
  • Viennese Empire Baroque -- Colpan family: ebonized hardwood with restrained classical proportions, ivory-and-gold accents.
  • Italian Rococo -- Karina and Karina Wow families: sweeping curves, ornate carved aprons with shell and acanthus motifs, the most decorative Baroque substyle.
  • Anatolian Carved Baroque -- Samdan and Savoy Carved families: Turkish master-artisan interpretation of European Baroque, with regional carving techniques.

FAQs About Luxury Baroque Furniture

What defines true Baroque furniture?

True Baroque furniture combines deep-relief hand carving, ornate aprons and pediments, gilt or hand-rubbed wood finishes, and hand-applied gold leaf accents on properly seasoned solid hardwood frames. The period style spans 17th-century Italian and French royal courts through 19th-century European revival, with substyles including Italian Baroque, French Louis XIV/XVI, Viennese Empire, and Rococo. Our collection executes this tradition by hand in our Ankara workshop -- no mold-cast or printed-finish shortcuts.

Is Baroque furniture still in style?

Baroque furniture is experiencing a revival in luxury homes since the early 2020s, particularly with collectors building heirloom-quality interiors. The signature carved silhouettes pair well with both classical formal interiors (as anchor pieces) and contemporary minimalist rooms (as statement pieces). For homeowners seeking timeless investment furniture, Baroque is one of the most historically established and resaleable styles.

What types of furniture are in the Baroque collection?

Our collection includes Baroque sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, carved dining chairs, sideboards, china cabinets, ornate beds, dressers, nightstands, and wardrobes. Six Baroque substyles are available: Italian Baroque Carved (Aybars), Royal Ottoman Baroque (Sultan), French Baroque Louis XIV/XVI (Aldebaran), Viennese Empire (Colpan), Italian Rococo (Karina), and Anatolian Carved Baroque (Samdan / Savoy Carved).

How do I care for hand-carved and gilt Baroque furniture?

Hand-carved surfaces: dust regularly with a soft natural-bristle brush to reach into carving relief; avoid wet cleaning on carved areas. Gold leaf and gilt accents: avoid direct sunlight to preserve color, dust gently with a soft brush, never use water or chemical cleaners on leaf surfaces. Our hand-applied finish base finish is designed for daily use over decades. Apply furniture wax once per year to maintain the patina on hand-rubbed wood pieces.

Can I customize a Baroque piece?

Yes. Carving depth, gilt vs hand-rubbed wood finish, fabric, dimensions, and crown moldings are commonly customized. For complete Baroque interior commissions we accept orders for entire rooms including matching wall paneling, interior doors, and built-in millwork in coordinated classical styles. Book a free design consultation for a quote tailored to your home.

Where can I see your luxury Baroque furniture in person?

Our Houston showroom at 3226 Hillcroft St opened in 2024 and displays a curated rotation of Baroque pieces from our Aybars, Sultan, Aldebaran, and Karina families. We are the only US-based Baroque furniture maker sourced directly from a single Ankara workshop -- not a dealer of multiple brands. For clients outside Houston we routinely conduct walk-throughs by FaceTime or video call.

What is the difference between Baroque and Rococo furniture?

Baroque furniture is grand and symmetrical with bold carving and gilding, while Rococo is lighter and more playful. Our Baroque collection is hand-carved in the classical tradition, with custom sizes and finishes available on commission.
